Part of the course of aging is losing the support structure in our face, which is what keeps our faces lifted, youthful and provides definition. This usually occurs when the fat dissipates and as this fat starts to diminish with time our cheeks, chin, lips and overall shape can start to sink in and sag. This volume loss can cause deep smile lines, marionette lines (around the mouth), crow’s feet, and sunken in temples and hollowed cheeks that become more visible to the naked eye.
This fat loss is natural, but can be prevented and reversed; one way to do this is with fillers.
We provide FDA approved fillers, which can help disguise volume loss. The fillers can plump thinner lips, improve fine lines and wrinkles, fill in the hollow temple or cheek areas, provide volume restoration and more.
After a consultation in our office where your needs and concerns will be addressed and evaluated, you will decide with our nurse manager, what the best approach is for your main concerns. We usually work with Allergan fillers such as Juvederm Ultra Plus XC, Juvederm Ultra XC, Voluma, and Volbella. All suited to fit each individual’s needs to give you the ultimate and best results.
Before and after Volbella to the lips
Injectables are not completely painless; however they are tolerated by most patients. It is our protocol to provide the utmost care in our facility, working with our patients to alleviate any discomfort. Bruising, swelling, and light soreness may happen after injections but will generally go away in a couple of days. FAQS
When will I see results of the Filler?
Although you may have some mild swelling after the injections the results will be noticeable almost immediately. Depending on what filler used it can take 2 weeks for the product to settle.
Is there down time with Fillers?
As with any injection, there is always a risk of bruising and swelling. Most patients have little to no bruising or swelling. Specific areas of the face are more vascular and therefore are more prone to bruising- if this is a concern be sure to speak with the nurse manager prior to any injections.
How long will the Filler last?
Depending on what filler is used and what areas are injected, the results can last anywhere from 3-24 months. The fillers we typically use can be removed with a quick injection of a specific enzyme.
Can I do Botox at the same time as a Filler?
Usually there is no problem doing Botox and Filler at the same time.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for Fillers?
As with any injections, we recommend for you to discontinue all blood thinners 1 week before injections to minimize the risk of bruising. Common blood thinners include, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, vit C, CoQ10, fish oils, omega, etc. If you are unsure if a medication is a blood thinner please call our office.
