Electrodessication is a procedure used on the skin to remove unwanted skin growths (such as skin tags, benign skin growths, and/or pigmented lesions). The procedure uses an electric current to gently remove the targeted growth. Most patients have a scab on the treated area for about 1 week after the procedure but are able to return to daily activities immediately.
FAQ
Will I need more than one treatment?
Most growths will subside with one treatment; however, some larger growths may require multiple treatments.
Is there any specific after care required?
Typically, very little care is required after. We recommend for you to apply an antibiotic ointment (such as polysporin) while the scab is healing. After the scab has healed you will want to apply sunscreen to prevent any discoloration.
Does the procedure hurt?
You may feel a small sting or burning sensation during the procedure, in some cases local anesthesia will be injected prior to the treatment
